As the Strategy evolves, a series of 6Cs Green Infrastructure projects will receive funding in order to begin to implement this strategy on the ground. The following are a number of Case Studies of projects within the 6Cs Growth Point that are already being implemented, but represent the type of work that the strategy aims to strengthen in this area.

6Cs Growth Point Biodiversity Opportunity Mapping Pilot Study 6Cs Green Infrastructure has been working in partnership with Natural England and the Wildlife Trusts during a pilot study for the that involved mapping Biodiversity Opportunity Areas within the 6Cs Growth Point. The Pilot Study and accompanying methodology are now available to download. 6Cs Growth Point Biodiversity Opportunity Mapping Pilot Study Report (pdf 355Kb) >>> Figures 1.1-1.8: Baseline Data (pdf 5.4Mb) >>> Figures 2.1-2.11: Site Suitability (pdf 4.2Mb) >>> Figures 3.1-3.11: Network Enlargement Areas BAP Habitat Class Scale (pdf 2.2Mb) >>> Figures 4.1-4.5: Network Enlargement Areas Middle Tier Habitat Class Scale (pdf 3.6Mb) >>> Figures 5.1-5.3: Network Enlargement Areas Upper Tier Habitat Class Scale (pdf 2.5Mb) >>> Figures 6.1-6.11: Derby HMA Network Enlargement Areas (pdf 2.5Mb) >>> Figures 7.1-7.11: Nottingham HMA Network Enlargement Areas-part1 (pdf 3.7Mb) >>> Figures 7.1-7.11: Nottingham HMA Network Enlargement Areas-part2 (pdf 3.5Mb) >>> Figures 8.1-8.11: Leicester HMA Network Enlargement Areas-part1 (pdf 4.1Mb) >>> Figures 8.1-8.11: Leicester HMA Network Enlargement Areas-part2 (pdf 4Mb) >>> Appendix 2: References (pdf 82Kb) >>> The project includes the mapping of existing biodiversity areas and the use of these to illustrate where targeted creation and restoration can help meet the Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) targets. Chris Blandford Associates were commissioned by Natural England and the Wildlife Trusts in the East Midlands to carry out the 6Cs Growth Point Biodiversity Opportunity Mapping Study as a parallel, but highly complimentary, piece of work to the emerging 6Cs Green Infrastructure Strategy and Action Plan. The findings of the study will inform the development of the biodiversity component of the 6Cs Green Infrastructure Strategy (the emerging strategy is available on the 6Cs Green Infrastructure website via the Strategy pages). |
